If you're as sharp-eyed as my lyrics pal, you may have noticed what he did: the second line of the final verse is not as Mathis recorded it. He sang the line "We will endure as we pass surely through ev'ry storm." It's probably just me, but that feels a syllable too long to fit the phrase musically, so I sing it as you see it above -- because this is a lyric that ought not to be rushed to be savored fully.
